At Ynys Hywel, we aim to provide learners with a sound understanding of the importance of physical activity. Whilst some may strive to develop excellence in one particular activity, our key priority is to develop our young people holistically.

At Ynys Hywel, we emphasise the importance of being able to plan, prepare and cook nutritional dishes both for personal consumption and for exciting events and projects. Being able to cook is a key life skill and in a society surrounded by expensive fast food and unhealthy temptations, raising awareness of cost-effective, healthy meal options is our key goal.

- Understand the importance of safe food preparation to avoid contamination.
- Plan and realise their own catering goals and evaluate for improvement.
- Develop literacy by planning, reading, understanding, responding and evaluating .
- Carry out planned tasks by applying appropriate catering skills.
- Plan and prepare an enterprise project to cater for a larger customer base.
- Consider the impact of the food we eat on our mental and physical health.
